Services — Forward Deployed Engineering

We stay in the building until it works.

Most integrators drop the hardware, email a login, and leave you a WhatsApp number. ZAZTEK sends an engineer who sits with your team through survey, install, customisation and training — and doesn't sign off until your staff can run the system without us.

The handover gap

The system usually isn't the problem. The handover is.

Good hardware and good software still fail when nobody adapts them to how your office actually works. That adaptation is the job we've named and staffed.

The usual project

Supply, install, invoice

  • Requirements taken over one meeting and a phone call
  • Standard configuration, none of your forms or formats
  • Training is a 40-minute demo on the last day
  • Documentation is the manufacturer's PDF
  • Six months later, half the features are unused
A ZAZTEK deployment

Forward deployed engineering

  • An engineer walks your floors and watches your process
  • Reports, roles and workflows built to match what you already use
  • Training by role, repeated until your staff run it unaided
  • A written manual for your install, with your screenshots
  • Thirty days of support, then a scheduled review

How a deployment runs

Six phases. Every one of them ends in something you can hold.

Timings below are typical for a mid-size site. Larger campuses and multi-branch networks run the same sequence over a longer schedule.

01Day 1–2

Survey

We come to you. Floor walk, cable routes, power and rack audit, existing systems, and a sit-down with the people who will actually use the thing every day.

You receiveSite survey report, risk list, photographs and marked-up plan
02Day 3–5

BOQ and scope

A line-by-line bill of quantities generated from the survey — no vague lump sums. You see every camera, switch, licence and man-day, and what each is for.

You receiveItemised BOQ, scope document, delivery schedule
03Week 2–4

Deploy

Installation, racking, network configuration, server and database setup, security hardening and backup. Our engineer is on site for the whole build, not just the first morning.

You receiveWorking system, as-built diagram, credentials handover
04Week 3–6

Customise

The part most vendors skip. Your fee structure, your approval chain, your report formats, your branding — built into the system rather than worked around. ZAZ AI is wired in where it saves your team typing.

You receiveConfigured modules, custom reports, integrations to your existing tools
05Week 5–7

Train

Sessions by role, in Urdu or English, using your live data. Admin, operator and end-user tracks are separate, because they need different things. Repeated until people are confident, not until the hours run out.

You receiveRole-based user manual, recorded sessions, quick-reference cards
0630 days +

Support and review

Thirty days of direct access to the engineer who built it — not a ticket queue. At the end, a written review of what's working, what isn't, and what to do next.

You receiveSupport log, health review, roadmap for phase two

What the engineer brings

Our engineers arrive with tooling we built ourselves.

Twenty years of deployments turned into software. It's why a ZAZTEK survey produces a costed BOQ in days rather than weeks.

Quoting

BOQ generator

Survey notes go in, an itemised bill of quantities comes out — camera counts, cable runs, switch ports, licences and labour, priced and formatted for your procurement team.

Assistant

ZAZ AI, on every screen

Our assistant sits inside the delivered system, so your staff can ask how to do something instead of hunting through a manual. It knows your install, not a generic product.

Documentation

Manual generator

Every deployment ships with a written manual built from your actual configuration and screens. Recent handovers have run to 20+ pages, in print and PDF.

Integration

Connector layer

REST connectors and an agent runtime that let the new system talk to the accounting package, biometric device or portal you already run.

Verification

Test suites before handover

We run end-to-end tests against the live configuration and show you the results. You get a pass list, not a promise.

Continuity

Runbooks

Backup, restore, failover and routine maintenance written down for your IT staff, so the system survives a change of personnel.

Where we've done it

Deployments that needed someone on site.

Education

Campus management

Admissions, fees, attendance, assessments and payroll built around one institution's existing approval chain — with a full staff manual at handover.

Healthcare

Cardiology lab inventory

Consumable tracking, procedure costing and patient entitlement billing, mapped to how the lab's nurses and store already worked.

Real estate

Land records & plot management

Plot files, installments, cadastral maps, e-signatures and tax compliance for a housing society, usable offline in the field.

Infrastructure

Surveillance & data centre

Camera networks, racks, power and cooling designed on site, costed line by line, and handed over with as-built documentation.

Engagement models

Three ways to put an engineer next to your team.

Deployment sprint

2–6 weeks, fixed scope

One system, surveyed, built, customised and handed over. The standard way to start.

  • On-site survey and BOQ
  • Full install and configuration
  • Role-based training
  • 30 days support
Discuss a sprint

Retained support

Rolling, monthly

For systems already live. Scheduled visits, monitoring and a named engineer who knows your setup.

  • Named engineer, no ticket queue
  • Scheduled site visits
  • Backup and health checks
  • Priority response
Ask about retainers

Handover pack

What you own when we leave.

Nothing on this list is optional or extra. It is the definition of a finished ZAZTEK deployment.

  • Site survey report and marked-up plans
  • Itemised bill of quantities
  • As-built network and rack diagrams
  • Administrator, operator and user manuals
  • Recorded training sessions
  • Backup, restore and failover runbooks
  • All credentials, transferred to your control
  • Test results against the live configuration
  • Thirty-day support log
  • Written health review and next-phase roadmap

Questions

Before you call.

Do your engineers travel outside Rawalpindi and Islamabad?

Yes. We work across Punjab regularly, including Lahore, and take projects nationally. Travel and accommodation are quoted separately and shown as line items on the BOQ.

We already have a system. Can you work with it instead of replacing it?

Usually. The survey establishes what's worth keeping. We integrate with existing hardware, databases and portals where it makes sense, and say plainly when replacement is the cheaper route.

Who owns the customisations you build for us?

You own your configuration, your data and your custom reports. The underlying ZAZTEK platform stays licensed to you under the terms in your agreement, and we spell out which is which before work starts.

What happens after the thirty days?

Either your team runs it alone — that's the goal — or you move onto a retainer with the same engineer. There's no forced ongoing contract.

Can one engineer cover both the network side and the software side?

Our engineers are generalists by design: networks, servers, surveillance and application work. For large builds we send a pair, and one of them stays your single point of contact throughout.

Start with a survey

Tell us the site. We'll come and look at it.

A survey visit costs you a morning and gets you a written report and a costed BOQ — whether or not you go ahead with us.

Request an engineer

Tell us about the site.

Enough for an engineer to know what to bring. We read every one of these ourselves — it does not go into a ticket queue.

What is in scope

A survey visit costs you a morning. You get a written report and a costed BOQ whether or not you go ahead with us.
