Energy stocks drag Sri Lankan shares lower
Sri Lankan shares closed lower on Wednesday, dragged by energy stocks. The CSE All-Share index settled 0.64% lower at 20,517.55 points. Standard Capital and C M Holdings PLC were the top percentage losers on the index, down 10.6% and 7.2%, respectively. Trading volume on the index rose to 60.4 million shares from 43.1 million shares in the previous session. The equity market’s turnover rose to 1.99 billion Sri Lankan rupees ($6.01 million) from 1.07 billion rupees in the previous session, according to exchange data.
