Petrol price up 88 paise, HSD’s down Rs1.88

ISLAMABAD: The government on Monday announced revision in petroleum prices, which will remain applicable for Tuesday, October 6. According to an official notification, the petrol price has been increased by 88 paise per litre to Rs393.64. However, the price of High Speed Diesel (HSD) has been reduced by Rs1.88 per litre bringing it to Rs397.76 from Rs399.64. Beyond the base rate increase, the primary contributor to the price hike was the adjustment of the Inland Freight Equalisation Margin (IFEM) rising from Rs7.91 to Rs 8.02 per litre for petrol, and from Rs4.19 to Rs4.75 per litre for HSD.
